I Don’t Know About You, But Taylor Swift is a Billionaire

The Eras Tour and its ensuing theatrical proshot have officially made Taylor Swift a billionaire. Bloomberg News reports that the versatile songstress now has a net worth of $1.1 billion. The tour’s stops (so far) have grossed $700 million in ticket sales, while the movie, titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, is nearing $200 million globally, and it is the second highest-grossing October opening domestically at $92.8 million, just behind 2019’s Joker. A big part of Swift’s success with the movie version is that she got The Eras Tour distributed in the US directly through AMC Theaters without going through a movie studio, so she nets a bigger percentage of the domestic profits.

I’m not rich or free to travel at the drop of a hat, so I didn’t see the Eras Tour live. However, the movie was fantastic, and I loved the stagecraft on display in the sets and props.
