James Marsden Disappointed With Westworld Cancellation

Actor James Marsden recently spoke with Rolling Stone and discussed the cancellation of HBO Max’s Westworld. Although the show started strong and ran for four seasons, it was canceled ahead of season 5 due to declining ratings and changes in management. Check out Marsden’s statement here:

“I’d be lying to you if I told you that the way we ended Westworld wasn’t a disappointment. I’m never going to speak without gratitude about any of my experiences, but it would have been nice to be able to complete the story we wanted to finish.”

I like Marsden a lot as an actor, and I can appreciate what he’s saying here. These people worked on this show for years, so it has to hurt to see it cut short so close to the end. That being said, I won’t miss it. Westworld really lost its way in seasons 3 and 4, and I think this was a mercy killing. I’m more looking forward to seeing what Marsden does next in his career.
