What is the 199?

Memes dominate the internet, and we all love a good meme. The Geeks + Gamers community is built on them, so it should come as no surprise that the one thing that represents us the most is all because of that: a meme.
On April 10th, 2023, the main Geeks + Gamers YouTube channel was hosting another episode of our Geeks + Gamers Daily show. The title of the stream was “Super Mario Bros Movie DOMINATES Box Office, Disney Star Wars Celebration Cringe| G+G Daily.” Co-hosts Ryan Kinel and yours truly were covering entertainment news when someone came into the chat and started complaining. He intended to call us out; instead, the 199 was born because of a simple spelling mistake.

On most days, we have a meme pop up here or there because a hater or a critic comes into our stream, and we laugh and have fun with it. It’s usually here today, gone tomorrow type of stuff. But there was something different going on with “the 199,” and I quickly noticed it. The chat was relentless, and they would not stop calling themselves “the 199;” they said things like,”We are the 199” and “Hail the 199” and it was glorious.
The next day, Geeks + Gamers Daily began, and the entire chat was still talking about “the 199.” Fully embraced by the community and the team, it’s been a magnificent shit show, and we absolutely love it!
At this point, there’s no turning back. There’s now merch, emojis, backpacks, and more. There’s a lot more in the works, too, and it’s a testament to the overall G+G community that “the 199” is still going strong. The power is with the people, and the people have single-handedly made the 199 last, and it’s not going away.

I remember the moment that the 199 became a ting.. The chat went wild, and it was glorious!
I signed up just to make a comment I’ve been following Jeremy for years, I missed the 199 meme as I didn’t get into love chats back then. But I’m there now on Rumble! Thank you for explaining 199, I’ve always been curious, but not enough to ask 199 is in fact legion.
Where can I buy the 199 hats? They aren’t on 221b website? I was in Orlando too, but no one offered me a hat.
