Chicken Run Sequel Trailer Hatches

Today, Netflix and Aardman Animation released a trailer for Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. This sequel to 2000’s Chicken Run recasts Rocky from Mel Gibson to Zachary Levi and Ginger from Julia Sawalha to Thandiwe Newton. This time, the chickens are breaking in instead of out. I don’t understand why you would wait 23 years to make a sequel to Chicken Run. I also think the premise is a little gimmicky, and while I quite like Zachary Levi, recasting both main characters is a choice I have to question. The trailer is fine, and I like Aardman Animation a lot, so I may watch it just for something to do.
