Comic-Con 2022: Surprise John Wick 4 Trailer Kills at Hall H

The Boogeyman broke into the San Diego Comic-Con. At a panel called “Directors on Directing” held in the infamous Hall H – on which sat John Wick director Chad Stahelski – Keanu Reeves dropped by to show the audience a trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 (or whatever they call it; the trailer ends simply with John Wick, but they can’t pull that give-the-sequel-the-same-title-as-the-original nonsense already, can they?). Reeves and Stahelski also revealed that the film will take place in America, Japan, Jordan, Germany, and France, and will have “a lot of nunchucks.” In addition to Reeves, who returns as the titular assassin, John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Bill Skarsgård, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown. The film will be released on March 24, 2023. Check out the John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer below:

It definitely looks cool. The John Wick movies are a lot of fun, especially in a Hollywood landscape with almost no good action cinema. Chapter 4 will pick up where Chapter 3 left off, with Wick – now thought dead – going to war with the High Table, the leaders of the assassins’ guild of which he was once a member. The trailer reveals little, but we can make a few inferences. It looks like Bill Skarsgård is the main villain, and hopefully, they’ve finally got one worthy of their hero. Clancy Brown appears to be another member of the guild, with a missing finger similar to Wick’s; presumably, he’s going to try to collect the bounty on Wick’s head. Some of Wick’s enemies are wielding bows and arrows, which could make for a few inventive action sequences. And we can assume the action will be awesome because John Wick throws an axe into a guy’s head and beats another one against a table with nunchucks. I’m glad Keanu Reeves is so dedicated to these films, and this looks like it’ll be a great new entry in the series.
