Deadpool 3 Costume Revealed

Deadpool is sharpening his fashion sense along with his katana… or is he? Twitter account Deadpool Updates has shared pictures from the set of Deadpool 3 featuring Ryan Reynolds in costume as the Merc with a Mouth. The images reveal Deadpool’s new suit, which is very similar to the one from the previous two films, although it’s a slightly lighter shade of red. You can see the pictures below:

I like it, but that’s not saying much because it’s essentially the same costume. The lighter red is a good thing and brings it even closer to the comic book depiction of the character. And I’m glad they’re not really messing with it because the Deadpool movie costume is one of the most accurate comics-to-film translations there’s ever been. The mask looks a little different, but I think that’s because special effects are used to animate it and make it look more realistic and in-tune with the rest of the outfit, not to mention give Deadpool his expressive eyes; that’ll happen in post-production, which I don’t believe has begun yet. I take this as a positive sign; it indicates that Disney isn’t forcing changes for the sake of it, putting their own stamp on something that works. They did get one of their writers into the room (from She-Hulk, no less), but hopefully, the writers of the last two Deadpool movies – who are on board – will compensate for him. My fingers are crossed that this is another great one.
