Donald Glover Provides Lando Update

In a recent interview with GQ, Donald Glover discussed his return to the Star Wars universe as Lando Calrissian. Glover played the Star Wars icon in the 2018 flop Solo: A Star Wars Story and was announced to star in a spin-off TV series for Disney+ way back in 2020. Check out an excerpt of Glover’s latest comments about the Lando show here:

“It just needs to be the right way to do it. Now, time is precious. I think everybody’s like, from the past couple years with this pandemic shit, has really had people experience time in a way where they’re like, ‘Well, why am I [doing this] … I should be around oranges.’ [Glover did the interview in an orchard]

People kind of realized that their time was valuable. You only get so much. So I am not interested in doing anything that’s just going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. So it just has to be the right thing, which I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I’d like to hang out with.”

He went on to joke that he couldn’t say anything more without angering Kathleen Kennedy.

This is just more fluff, as usual. I think Lando, as well as the Rian Johnson trilogy, is shelved. They won’t come out and say as much because it’s embarrassing, but this show and those films have been incubating for multiple years with nothing to show for it. Much like Johnson, Glover frequently comments that it’s about timing, while Kathleen Kennedy puts the blame on his schedule. I don’t believe this show will ever be mad, and I’m not sorry if it doesn’t.
