Bad Batch Season 3 Trailer Teases the End of an Era

Disney+ has released the first trailer for The Bad Batch season 3 just under a month from the premiere. This will be the show’s final season, with the Batch aiming to reunite with Omega following her capture by Dr. Hemlock and Tech’s death. Check out the trailer here:

The Bad Batch is tied with Andor for my most-anticipated Star Wars show. By that, I mean they’re the only ones left I’m excited for. I plan to continue watching The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, but I don’t expect to enjoy them. I want to be hopeful for Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte, but I don’t know what to make of them. At least they’re original ideas. I really enjoyed The Bad Batch’s first season, but season 2 was even better. They finally developed characters besides Hunter, Echo, Crosshair, and Omega. This was awesome, especially as most of Echo’s characterization is from The Clone Wars. Kevin Kiner destroyed it with the music, as always. The visuals and storyline got more compelling than ever. I hope season 3 continues this trend and ends things on a high note, at least artistically. We know it won’t be a happy ending.

Bad Batch season 3 Trailer

We see a lot of significant characters in this trailer, particularly Palpatine and Asajj Ventress. I’m surprised about the latter, perhaps wrongly; I honestly didn’t think we’d see her anymore. She’s dressed in Jedi garb with a yellow lightsaber, so this must be the reformed Ventress of Dark Disciple we never got to see in The Clone Wars. Fennec Shand and Cad Bane will appear again. I don’t feel strongly about either of those; it all depends on how they’re used. I’m most excited to see more of Dr. Hemlock and Crosshair, who I imagine may rejoin his brothers now. The Bad Batch season 3 will have a three-part premiere on Disney+ on February 21st.

I’m in the same boat, Andor and Bad Batch are the only upcoming Star Wars projects I care about (Tales of the Jedi is good too). I’m already preparing for the emotional damage they’re inevitably going to inflict on us with this last season. Also the lack of Echo in that trailer has me greatly concerned for my boi’s safety.
