Barbie Posters and Trailer Flood the Internet

Today, Warner Bros. released a barrage of Barbie character posters to promote Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie. From Margot Robbie’s titular heroine to human pencil pushers, meet the cast here:

I love this. I don’t know much about Greta Gerwig, but based on these posters, I suspect she likes Barbies or collected them at some point. Some of Barbie’s primary careers are on display here, and they have the pregnant Midge! Allan is Midge’s husband, and they came in the Happy Family doll line, which is infamously (and erroneously) known for having the only “pregnant Barbie.” Barbie has never been pregnant to maintain her youthful identity. Anyway, I usually don’t care much about posters. What can you say about static, airbrushed images of the actors? But these are fun and referential, and I appreciate the attention to detail.
