Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a huge hit after being on sale for just a few days, but while it’s getting a lot of praise for its gameplay, it’s also being mocked as some of its woke attempts backfire. And this game does sound like it’s going for broke on that score; there are elements like the switch from helping the police (which was a big part of the first game) to helping firefighters and a Miles Morales side mission where you play as a deaf black girl and spray graffiti on buildings.
In one of Mile’s side missions you play as a black deaf girl (the mission has muted audio for the effect) who sprays graffiti on random walls. I’m sorry, but I thought I was playing a Spider-Man game. This is ghey. pic.twitter.com/9SLorJJM6e

But Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 goes so far in that direction that the snake eats its own tail, as reported by Niche Gamer. In the Spanish language version of the game, the characters’ speech is changed to the university-approved Latinx version of Spanish, with gender-inclusive nouns and adjectives instead of the masculine or feminine forms of the words. Put another way, the game’s developers made up fake words and used them in place of actual Spanish words. Gee, I can’t imagine why anyone took offense to that.
Here is something interesting for Latinos
Spider-man 2 has (Inclusive language) For those English speakers, this will be like spreading Latinx all over the game.

But here’s the worst one, also from Niche Gamer: in one scene, Miles Morales, who is black and Puerto Rican, walks past what is supposed to be the Puerto Rican flag as it hangs outside his apartment – except it’s not the Puerto Rican flag, it’s the Cuban flag. They have a very similar design and color scheme, but these are different countries, and evidently, nobody double-checked to make sure Miles Morales was flying the flag of his culture.

This is too funny. They took the police element out of the game, they went so far as to make Miles Morales the co-lead with Spider-Man, they made sure he’s helping people deface property, they changed the Spanish language to make it woke enough for them (which, despite any backlash, I doubt they have a problem with), and they were too busy patting themselves on the back to get the flag of his ethnic background right. That’s how authentic all their virtue-signaling nonsense is. I would guess the flag will probably be changed in an update at some point, but it’s too late to stop the shame.
Thanks to YellowFlash for making a video that alerted me to this.
Sorry Miles, Marvel/Sony only wants to you be a virtue signal, not an actual character with an actual culture and stuff.
