Complete discrepancy between the UK gov and the ONS. That’s because the UK gov puts out a very broad and frankly stupid qualification as to what counts as a “COVID death” – If you die shortly after being tested positive, say from, a brain hemorrhage, it’ll be marked as COVID on your death certificate.
That is why the mortality rate is reported being so high in Britain, because the numbers are being artificially inflated and making people think the pandemic is worse than it actually is. Thus convincing the public that these regulations are necessary.
When data is being manipulated like that, I find debating the stats an exhausting massive waste of time and ultimately a distraction. “Facts and logic,” whether or not you can spread the virus to others… You’re missing the point; none of that is the issue here. Even if we were living through the deadliest pathogen known to mankind, it still would not justify the shutting down of societies and erosion of our liberties.
The core issue here is ideology. I think you’ve made it clear what you’re against but what exactly are you for? People not dying? A nice sound byte, but hardly a firm political stance. That just makes you malleable and easily manipulated by Leftists who prey on your concern for others into doing what they want.

You’ve said nothing about whether you think governments response to COVID is justified and avoid answering directly when confronted. Only that people should just do what they’re told, because that’s what the science says. As though scientists are above us mere mortals, are completely 100% objective and wouldn’t politicize the profession, right?

Do also you think anything the UK gov is doing to its own citizens is perfectly fine or would you at least agree with me that it’s completely disproportionate? Just because something is written into law doesn’t mean it’s perfectly ethical. Laws can be as flawed as the human beings who write them, and sometimes they’re written with ulterior motives. There’s following the law because you respect the values it was founded on and then there’s obeying it because it’s the path of least resistance in life.
