Jon Snow Spin-Off Series Canceled

Kit Harington was campaigning for his new movie, Blood For Dust, in an interview with ScreenRant when the Game of Thrones spin-off centered around his character, Jon Snow, came up. When asked about the series, Harington clarified that the spin-off is effectively canceled. Check out what he has to say here:

“I hadn’t really ever spoken about it, because it was in development. I didn’t want it leaked out that it was being developed. I didn’t want the thing to happen where people kind of start theorizing, getting either excited about it or hating the idea of it, when it may never happen. Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it’s worth it.”

And currently, it’s not. Currently, it’s off the table, because we all couldn’t find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being. There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It’s firmly on the shelf.”

I honestly kept forgetting about this show. I like Jon Snow and Kit Harington, but Snow’s story was over when Game of Thrones ended. I don’t think we need more with him, so I’m not surprised they couldn’t nail down a story for the spin-off show. I’m sorry for Harington and the writers, but I don’t think this is any great loss.

But what do you think? Is canceling the Jon Snow show a big lost opportunity for HBO? Do you think the idea will be revived at some point? Sound off in the comments!
