New Ahsoka Trailer Enters Training

Today, Lucasfilm released another trailer for the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series Ahsoka. Check it out here: 

I have some problems with this one. Sabine having Ezra’s lightsaber doesn’t bother me; I’ve seen some complain about this, but she did train with the Darsksaber, and Ezra left her blade to her in Rebels. However, Ahsoka taking Sabine on as a Padawan makes me uncomfortable. Despite wielding the Darksaber competently, I never got the impression that Sabine was Force-sensitive. Every character doesn’t have to be good at everything, and she’s already a great warrior, strategist, and artist. Is our girl a Jedi now, too? I don’t think it’s needed, but we’ll see how Dave Filoni pulls that off. This is a milder gripe, but some of Hera’s dialogue here is cringe, like “Once a Rebel, always a Rebel.” However, I think Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno’s villains look great. Very interested in seeing what’s up with them, and I’m still thrilled to have Lars Mikkelsen back as Thrawn. I’m excited about this show; I just have some concerns.
