Disenchanted Trailer 2 Casts a Curse

Today, Disney released another trailer for Disenchanted. This clip reveals a bit more story, as we see Nancy and Edward return and how Giselle’s wish comes to be. Robert’s lackluster experience in Monroeville and the tension between Giselle and Morgan are also on display here. Check it out below:

This looks great. I just keep hoping Disenchanted is a genuine successor to the fun, magical original rather than a sloppy vehicle to push Disney+. Movies like Hocus Pocus 2 haven’t been encouraging, and I can’t help but wonder why Disenchanted wasn’t sent to theaters. 

From what we’ve seen so far, though, I am hopeful. Most of the original cast returned, and the visuals look pretty good. It’s a shame the director has been replaced, and I don’t know how Maya Rudolph’s character will compare to Susan Sarandon’s Narissa. But I like the idea of Giselle wishing for what she’s lost, and if they play it right, making her a villain is an interesting concept.
